It just popped into my head. Still a work in progress :)
R.T.P

There were always moments when I seemed to be being alone with you, when sky was too clear, rainbows crowding the skies, when birds were singing songs like I am now.
There were always moments when you asked me what we were going to do, if life would part us, if age would weary us, if once upon a time didn't matter. You wanted more than this room, more than this mattress, these mismatching socks and promises of for never.
What about flying? Did you ever think that maybe, with my hand in yours that you could fly? Maybe together we can climb, surpass time, surpass age, surpass death, and just be, our souls forever entangled, encapsulated in each other's presence as we fly through the stars, ready to rest at last, peaceful in each other's arms.
It was almost too much when your look could kill, but searching made me vain, so you held my heart, felt the warmth of my hand, between your fingers, giving us both flight.
It was almost too much when we touched the night sky and drowned in it, when the white flag flew, when we were trapped in grief, and the darkness cushioned our fall from grace. We wanted more than this fate, more than our old dreams, this ignorance of our own insanity.
What about crying? Did you ever think, that maybe, with my hand in yours that we could try? Maybe together we can die, surpass time, surpass age, surpass life, and just be, our souls forever fixated, immovably tied to each other's presence as we cry with the stars, shedding for each moment, defeated, but peaceful at last.
It wasn't enough that when I closed my eyes all I could see was you. 'Cause when I opened my eyes I saw other things, too.
Life, that changes, time, that ages, love can approach death as we do, too. I've broken my heart to break the light of day for you.
