an observation of wars....and what may happen after
The flag is flying  high above the masses
stained with the souls of death and honor
who takes control of the angry mobs
when the ground's still moist from  the million sobs
their innocence lost in political battles
after the war machines are gone

Celebration
a time of democracy done
the blood covered shoes marching home
that change the guard and set the tone
the fires that burn consume the character
the move to rebuild invokes a hunger
feeding on the words of a leading factor
only bring the living to a false hope
for tomorrow seems to bare a repetition

All over this world
big and small
humans fight for money and power and domination
with words and deeds and nominations
and when the words fail to stir the change
there's invasion to carry out a wars declaration
and the innocent litter the floor of wars damnation
decapitated, mutilated, down right annihilated
the body count a tribute to those that crave
as the brave are wished away to a heroes grave

Fathers, mothers, sons and daughters
try to make sense of the mindless slaughter
some gone
some taken
some missing
as the morning sun breaks it feels like a prison
the wail and the tears and the cry for humanity is loud
but it's muffed by the explosive hell that make some proud
and in the end
damaged lives stir relentless anger and spite
with nightmares and memories that last a lifetime
in the aftermath
