what you can see together when you are so far apart
last night i looked up
and saw the moon up above
as beautiful as it was all i could think of was
did you see it too

big and round
a full moon i'm sure
i'm sure you did too
but then there came a cloud
and just like that it was gone again

did you see the cloud?
of course not
you are another state away

seeing the moon makes me miss you
because at that moment it didn't matter where we were
we saw the same thing
