A drive down the lonely road of Grove Hills
John drove hastily around the twisting turns of Grove Hills.  It was dark, and the treacherous two-lane road always scared him.  The trees grew right up to the side of the road, leaving little room to move over if you needed to react to oncoming headlights from approaching cars.

And then, of course, there were the stories…

Everyone knew about the ghost car of Grove Hills.  Most of the small town had seen the ghost car at least once in their lifetime.  There had been a half a dozen fatalities on the stretch of road, and those individuals that had survived had remembered seeing a car coming right at them, then disappearing into the night.

John shivered with fear, knowing that he was almost clear of the two miles that made up Grove Hills.

    Then the headlights came…

Swerving from the blinding light, John struggled to maintain control of the car.  The lights drew nearer as he clenched his steering wheel.

The two vehicles met.  John braced for the impact as the oncoming car passed through his vehicle, spun off the road, and struck a tree.

John took a deep breath as he and his vehicle disappeared into the night.
