The Misconception.
Ode To Black

Devoid
of light, they made you out to be a monster,
the Devil incarnate,
associated you with death, sorrow and all
things glum,
no one ever tried to see the beauty in you,
or the necessity
of you,
how your (lack of) color makes you unique
amongst all the colors,
ironically, your reputation for "going with any-
thing" wasn't enough to save you,
the never ending persecution by the masses
is your only existence,
conversely, you are loved by millions,
but that love is tainted with negative overtones,
to me
you are just a being as I,
not a description of my soul, my psyche
or my will,
your connection with evil, with suffering, with
death
do not apply
nor can they ever,
you're safe with me
and
oh, how I love you.
