A 55 word story on a mother's love and concern for her adult offspring.
“You are late. Should I serve dinner?” My mother asked.

“I am grown up for heaven’s sake. Stop meddling in my life, please,” I snapped, even though I knew that she would not have eaten either.

Next morning, I discovered her sitting at the same place.

“I am sorry, Mom.”

But she was already dead.
