A husband arrives, unexpectantly.
Hannah’s husband Tom was to meet her at the restaurant 30 minutes ago and she decided to eat without him.  The sound of a blade being sharpened in the back had continued non-stop since she arrived.

The lights, buzzed like insects as she ordered from the ugly Goth waitress.

“Gourmet Burger, please,” Hannah said.

“Sorry?” the waitress said.

“Gourmet Burger, please,” Hannah repeated.

“Flies? I mean fries?” The waitress said chuckling.

“No, Chef’s Salad, on a separate plate please, thanks.”

“No problem”, the waitress said, already walking away.

Her burger arrived with the side salad.  She noticed the meat was like ground pork.  It was delicious and she took another large bite.

“Ow! Ahh,” she had bitten into something metallic.

She spat the object into her hand and stared in horror at Tom’s class ring.

The knife sharpening was now right behind her.  She saw her husband’s bloody eyes resting on top of her salad just as she was hit hard across the back of the head with the sharpened machete.  Lying in an expanding pool of blood, she heard the waitress laugh as she rapidly cleared the table.

“Now we have tomorrow’s special!” said the voice behind her.
