Made this when i was really upset about not getting something that i wanted so much.
At first you see the dream,
there within your grasp.
Excitement taking hold,
like fireworks to your blood,
like a hurricane storming past,
like gunfire to your brain,
like a car going too fast.

Then one word is uttered,
just one tiny word.
With two letters and a sound,
brings the world crashing down.

Chest feels so tight,
tears stain the cheeks,
the feeling of emptyness,
certainly takes hold.

You deflate like a balloon,
like a light switch turned off,
like blood seeping from a wound,
like life going out.
Each next word,
falls on deaf ears,
as depression takes its toll.
