To my father.
Peacefully you helpless lay,

Heading your face toward Right,

Now, you recovered your dismay.

And what tears may do me?

None can undo Heaven's might.

Fearlessly, I approached,

Took the cold hand in mine,

That once was warm & affectionate.

Trying to count the spaces of time,

That part us till an indefinite date.

You are dead.

A fact hard to comprehend.

Your part's over on this tricky stage of the world,

Where all of us have been unwillfully hurled.

In your scenario,

I read Death was at your elbow,

And though I've had much practice,

I can't but prove a bad actress.

And till Fate reunites our souls in one,

And till time reallows for our laughter & fun,

I'll barely get by on

Our scraps of memories.
