A Traditional Sonnet About Crime Corruption Greed
                                                        The Gotham Sonnet

Lies are the daggers that sever wounds worst,

In shadows stealthy and long lie the wronged,

While potbellied pigs of stature thirst,

For the boons of those who did not belong,

Naive trust gobbled by night’s parasites,

Of law and justice they did rule till now.

Poised on a decaying throne as bold knights,

Pernicious politicians do not bow

To the echoes of wailing candor from

Masses of betrayed puerility.

Each brick in the wall to pressure succumb,

Crimson jagged bits of the mass tarry

For what remains are sediments of time

Examined by man for junctures sublime.
