Snowflakes are unique, but only for so long. An entry for the 55word story competition.
Strangled by the storm the city fell silent. 

Darkness crept out from its daily hiding place as snowflakes filled the air, losing all freedom and individuality as they fell to the ground.

Conformed by the masses, now a part of the silent city and swallowed by darkness, they prayed for spring to set them free.
