This is a poem I wrote one windy, cold sleepless night in the fall
                   Autumn Wind
                           by
                   Jeanne J. Johnson

The wild wind roared through the darkness of night
It blew and it whistled; it howled and moaned
The leaves on the trees and brush did scatter ‘bout
Autumn is coming cold whisper had sung
The Winds that blew last night made me shudder.
The wild wind roared through the darkness of night.
My blankets were up my feet were covered
My ears they were deafened by the blast of cold wind
Autumn is coming I heard the winds say
You better be prepared its ‘bout to begin
Wind had laughed at me once again its true
Fair warning is blowing in hard and fast
The leaves had lost their home the wind had laughed
The wild wind roared through the darkness of night.
It spoke to me in gusts of air blowing
Knocking at my window it never stopped
Sleepless night; revenge of the wild night’s winds
The wild wind roared through the darkness of night.
