Distracted for a moment from horrors that consume.
I tied it to my wrist

It carried me away

A gently blowing wind

That took me from today



I focused on the red

That kept you from my sight

Held tightly to the thread

Looked at that something bright



Distracted by a toy

Then right back to the world

Another clever ploy

That keeps your doings furled



A little red balloon

Helped save me from despair

But still I'm in this room

And still your eyes do glare

Take happiness to soon

Destroy beyond repair
