It always seems to happen.... flutters when getting that special phone call.
                   "I Still Get Those Butterflies"


Psychic-electricity;
         expecting excitement,
         my fingertips found me
         reaching for the phone.

Tiny-shivers;
         interrupted a beat of my heart
         as I answered the call.
         My splintered salutation must've
         startled both of us. Then...

Iron-silence.
         Suddenly, after an eternity;
         an unexpected uncorked-sound
         gestured hilarity into the phone,
         cracking that initial metal-moment.

Freckled-giggles;
         comic episode of enlightenment ebbed,
         unmasked kinship revealed intentions.
         A romantic conversation then ensued.
