Respect is hard to define
Respect

It’s hard to see and tough to judge,
this thing we call respect.

Involved are thoughts and hidden scars,
and fears we must reject.

If we protect the rights to choose,
and the life they wish to live.

Perhaps a start to true respect,
is ours to share and give.

A different style, a different drum,
ideals and hopes and dreams.

The word if filled with many ways,
it’s harder than it seems.

For within ourselves we have the means,
to create eternal bliss.

And through respect for everything,
a lasting happiness.

To look beneath the things we see,
and beyond our fears and guile.

And see the hopes and dreams of God,
then we’ve passed a final trial.
