They've found us...
I’ve been Here once and only once in my life. I’ve been dreaming about this place since I was 10 and now I’m fourteen, I’ve decided to take some action before these dreams get even worse than they’ve already have and before the uthrions come.

I walk around in the gloom of night mindlessly, I touch the plants, and I smell the plants. Everything’s never been as clear as it is right now. Then an owl screams and floats down onto the ground beside me, shot in the chest once.

I’m dreaming again, this can’t be real not anymore. Will clamps his hand over my mouth seconds before I was about to scream, I clamp down hard. He’s bleeding, I didn’t mean to!

The uthrions have found us after all of these years one again they’ve found us. We had to hide. I push will gently into the green plants moments ago I was admiring.  Making as little noise as I could I slide down behind him in the damp cold grass.

Our breaths became shallow, we held our breaths. They’d found us, too soon.

Hours pass when they suddenly come into view, tall strong beings. Snakes for hair, knives for teeth, and no eyes, they were uglier and scarier looking then I’d ever dreamt.

Will’s eyes soon became huge a moment before he closed his eyes and started to mouth out a simple prayer, taking to his lead I did the same. When I opened them the uthrions were above us.

They must’ve smelt us. We were in some deep trouble. The sun had to come out eventually scattering them but that was hours away and who knows what would happen to us by then.

I quietly and stealthily pile dead leaves onto my body as well as will’s. The leaves were coated with some bugs and red ants making me cringe but if the unthrions found us it’d be worse, much worse.

After a few minutes or so it seems they’ve lost our scent and start to move on but not before they spit  into will’s eye, their spit was acidic blinding him momentarily but not before he yelps in surprise.

They look down and gurgle. Two uthrions behind them leave to alert the others. It’s nails drag into my shirt piercing my stomach when I try to kick. Uselessly, the uthrion laughs or I think it laughed.

This was starting to become a dangerous game, a game I couldn’t afford to lose. Thankfully though it hadn’t seemed to notice will or it would’ve grabbed him to.

I looked down and saw fear in his eyes, shame was all over his face and guilt was in his movements. I saw him looking through his pockets when I remembered the candle. A new gleam of hope shone through to my eyes when I saw a red flicker appear.

The uthrion screamed and ran even before the light was thrown at it. We smiled but said nothing, we still had an hour before the sunlight would even start to seep through a little.

We decided to run into the woods toward home or the only home we’d ever known and so we ran. We heard a pursuit of the Uthrions trying to track us which they were very good at but were just as good in hiding.

We were almost in Arizona when we heard not a single set of footsteps. We climbed up the  to the tree and up into the branches when we felt the early sun’s rays beaming down on us, we’d made it through another day.
