This was an assignment I wrote for a creative writing Class
The fly and I

Have a common relation,

Of mischief we dabble into.

But oh we do not know,

The trouble before the deed is done,

Our acts are innocent.

Like the fly,

I have 2000 eyes,

But I am blind to myself.

The fly and I,

My partner in crime,

Are hunted like prey.

Swatted and swatted,

Until we lose our breath,

I am to the fly as the world is to me.

The fly and I,

Equal in size,

Beaten until our hearts beat no longer.

It is our best intention to live,

As we dodge the swatter,

Fighting the world that's against us.

Fight until our bodies,

Are unable to fight anymore,

The swatter's wishes are fulfilled.

The fly,

My partner in crime,

Live and die in a similar manner-

We live life,

Then we die,

And end up in a section of a folded newspaper.
