the revenge
Willow followed a bright star until she reached the dark tower. The village elders had told her the truth! She was banned from her family when they heard what she was going to attempt, but she had to do what was necessary.

When her brother died in this insane war between their tribes, she was left the last offspring of her family. Women were not allowed to participate in tribal wars, so she had no right to take revenge for her brother's death. But she couldn't just sit still at home with her elderly father and mother. She had to do something.

The tower seemed much darker than the elders described it. She felt shivers down her spine when she went up the stairs, carrying her load. The elders had warned her, she might not come back from her mission, but she did not care. The tower was not heavily guarded and the only guard did not see a threat in a pretty woman like her. He also did not see the knife she hid under her shirt.

With the keys she stole from the dead guard, it was easy to enter the room at the top. Here they had their water supply piped directly into their village. All the soldiers would drink from it in the morning. She opened the package she had carried all the way long and threw the bones into the water tank. If the elders were right, nobody would survive the next three days.
