A strange rambling from the early stages of a relationship.
It's Hard to blow bubbles with chewing gum.
Especially if you're out of breath,
When you're much to excited to get out of bed.
Boy I could fall for you or rip you to shreds.
It's hard to be a kitten when you've got tiger claws,
So hard to love nice boys because it seems too easy.
I want you.
I need a person like you.
Someone to hold my hand as we stare at the ceiling.
I want to get lost in the stucco.
I want to give you a crash course in how good badness can be.
Stop me if I talk too much,
If you heard this line before,
If you don't wanna hear it,
If I shouldn't write your name in hearts on my notebook.
I love it when you tell me I'm sweet,
The way you make me laugh at bad jokes,
The way your hands feel warm and rough on my shoulders.
I wish I could use that four letter word with no fricatives.
L-
O-
V- no, not there yet.
But I know where I want to be.
There, under the trees with the slightest hint of hesitation under layers of wool and flannel.
How we were cold in the desert I'll never know.
And Damien Rice got it right,
The only thing I ever learned from stones was to stay still but I'm still floating like a cannonball.
Still sinking.
Because I've probably broken through thin ice and all that's left is water,
Soaking my feet through my shoes.
