LOST TOYS AND MOMENTS TO REMEMBER
Castle Travesties

Dismayed in my search, I looked up, checked under, and climbed many of stairs,

asking the cook, I spoke with maid and the butler to find only glares.

Lost somewhere in this castle, she must be so sad my hippo full of stuff,

I even searched the belfry just outside, and the foot bridge along the rough.

It was all day before I heard of the knights whispering to another in his ear,

his words told me of the king shouting of a red wagon in his way and it was quite clear.

Rushing again up those long winding steps, my legs tiered so from the run,

into the master bedroom I caught father playing and having fun.

Surprised I asked why he played like a child with my hippo and red wagon,

He told me of a wish when he were a boy of toy dragon.

Together we played until we bid sweet dreams, and night bared it’s bright moon,

In this castle so vast, the red wagon and hippo were lost again so soon.
