Short short story
They say that death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.

That's a nice thought.

I'd like it to be true.

Her smile captured you, did it not? Grabbed you and held you...

That's probably enough about that...

She was a big one, wasn't she? Huge is what she was. It was mind-boggling how she could surf the way she did. Fun to watch, remember? Going down the wave straight, and then a little hip-action and she's in the wave carving, and the whole beach watching her and Susie smiling that smile...

That's a nice thought too, but you got to go home now. Enough about that.

Most people probably assumed she would float, don't you think? Big girl like her, float for days bobbing in the sea and just charming the shit out of Old Man Nautilus as she waited for you.

Maybe Old Man Nautilus don't charm so easy. Or maybe you don't move so fast. Or maybe Susie just grew tired of waiting.

Or maybe none of that is true.

One thing's for sure; that's enough about that.
