A poem about Jesus stilling a storm at sea.
The Storm

The sea, the sea, swelling,
The sky a warning telling,
The rain, the rain, falling,
The prospect is appalling.

Thunder, lightning flashing,
Waves rising, crashing,
Salty water spraying,
The little boat is swaying.

The wind, the wind is blowing,
The men's anxiety showing,
Their launch they are regretting,
The storm, the storm, worse getting.

But there's something they're forgetting,
There beside the netting,
The Master of the sea and land
Is about to lend a hand.

Jesus, Jesus, waking,
Control now he is taking,
Words of peace he's saying,
The wind and waves obeying.

The change is quite alarming,
The sea, the sea is calming,
The men amazed, God-fearing,
The shore, the shore is nearing.

"What kind of man is this?
The wind and sea are his,
He only has to say,
And the storm just goes away."

(Based on Matthew 8:23-27, Jesus calms the storm)
