Special Agent Raeven is attacked by assassins and thrown into a world of shock and awe
Chapter 1
Training
Raeven had no problem seeing in the dark, it was natural for her to be in the dark. She slowly slide around the corner with her gun pointed straight ahead, listening to the footsteps of her partner, David a nice looking man with a rugged appearence, with very boyish looking eyes, as he came in behind her. She motioned for him to take point on the closed door, He tested it. Locked.
He waved for her to breach and clear, and whisperd, "Remember Raeven, we are training with Navy Seals. They will be shooting to kill, you know."
Raeven replied, "I know babe, don't worry bout just don't get your pretty face messed up."
Raeven prepared to kick in the door, "You want the top or bottom?" She asked with a wink
"You know by now that I prefer to be the one on top, I just get a better view of who I am shooting." David said returning the wink.
Raeven kicked in the door, her and David entered quickly scanning the room. They thouroghly searched the room. Raeven faded into the shadows as David continued moving further into the dark warehouse.
A single glimmer of light caught Raeven's eye, she focused in and softly, quickly fired one round striking the target in the head.
As she examined the body to confirm her shot, she noticed a strange tattoo on the neck of the navy seal.
She quickly memorized the look of the tattoo and moved on to catch up with David.
Sensing the prescence of multiple targets, Raeven collected her thoughts and nonchalantly walked into the room. Instantly surveying the room and the 7 seals holding David at bay. Using her feminine appeal, she flirted her way to the soldiers. With one single motion she disarmed two of them, kicked one into the wall, and grabbed one around the neck and tossed him to the ground. In another instant she used the soldier's guns and shot all of the seals.
As the lights came on and the alarm sounded, ending the training session, David looked in amazement as Raeven cut his hands free.
"Damn Raeven, where in the hell you learn to fight like that? It seems....well unnatural."
"Well if you like David, I can always let them shoot you next time."
"Oh, don't get me wrong sweetie, I am not complaining. Just making an observation."
One of the navy seals walked over to shake Raeven's hand, "We have ran that same excersise against the most experienced teams in the world, and used it in the field on countless missions. You are the only one that has been able to take us down and make it completely ineffective."
Raeven quickly noticed he also had a tattoo on his neck, just like the one on the seal in the hallway.
"Is that tattoo a seal thing or something? I have never seen it used on any military anywhere."
"Oh dear Raeven, it is a special tattoo given only to a very select few. It is a very special group that recieves it. I will be seeing you around Raeven. It is Raeven isn't it?"
Raeven, feeling very uncomfortable with the question, slightly nodded yes. She couldn?t take her eyes off of the tattoo, which actually looked like a brand. "These aren't really Navy Seals," She thought to herself.
She glanced at David, giving him the "Let's get the hell outa here" look. David acknowledge, ?Raeven, we need to get to the debriefing. We are late." David grabbed hold of her hand and led her out of the room.
"Raeven, what the hell is wrong with you? I have never seen you act like that before." Raeven looked at David with confusion and fear in her eyes, "I don't know, I just..Hell David something about that tattoo, it kinda look like a branding. You and I know they don't do that in the military. We have studied all markings and symbols used by militaries all over the world." "So what are you saying? Those guys aren't Navy Seals?" "That is exactly what I am saying, how often have you known me to be wrong?" David tried to think but knew as well as she did that he knew she was never wrong,
"Raeven, You just seemed so fixated by it. Why?" "I don?t know, I think I have seen it somewhere before. It seems familiar, and those guys seemed like they was hiding something.?" Raeven, are we fixing to have long nights of research, empty pizza boxes, NOS cans, and a mountain of Subway wrappers?" "She looked at David with a smirk, "We?" David laughed and said, "Well I mean I wouldn't want you to do all of this hard work by yourself. When have I ever let you do research by yourself?" Raeven giggled and looked ahead, "I would probably go insane without you David.?" "I will meet you in the morning, say around 9:30, at the library" Raeven told David as she unlocked her car. David nodded in agreement and drove off. Raeven sat down in the driver's seat and took a deep breath calming herself before she started the car. She thought to herself, "You gotta quit being so damn jumpy." She placed the key in the ignition and let the 400 horses sooth her as her new Shelby GT Mustang roared to life.
As she started to pull out of the parking lot, she noticed one of the soldiers running toward her holding her coat. "Damn, I must have forgotten it in the break room."
Reluctantly she slide her window down, and accepted her coat. The soldier spoke, "Raeven? My name is Damiaen, That was some pretty impressive sh*t you did back there, I would like to learn some of those moves." "Damiaen, thanks for bringing my coat. Uh, maybe I could give some pointers someday," Raeven said hoping that he would just take it and leave. "Here is my number, you can call me and set up a time to meet or we can go get coffee or something." Raeven felt strangely secure about trusting Damiaen, so she placed her hand out of the window and accepted the slip of paper. Noticing the same mark on the back of his hand. Damiaen realized she was staring at it, "Don't worry Raeven, we are the good guys. Me and you are on the same side." Raeven smiled and pulled into traffic, turning her radio up and singing along to Celldweller's song Switchback.

Chapter 2
The Dream The Beggining
"Raeven, please come to us. Come home, we need you. Come and take your place as the leader of your house" The screeching sound, of owls and shrieks of pain and terror filled Raeven's mind and the smell of burning flesh and fresh blood teased her nostrils. A man walking toward her holding a sword, beautiful in its design. Silver handle with a golden inlay of a raven holding a red rose accented by the most gorgeous ruby as the eye of the raven. The blade long and slender. The man extends the handle toward her, as she starts to accept everything fades to black.
Raeven sits up with her gun drawn, quickly and methodically searching the room. After a few moments she realizes she is in her own bedroom. "Just a f*cking dream, God it seemed so real." Gathering her nerves and senses she walks to the kitchen, opens the refrigerator and takes out a bottle of wine. She sits and begins to pour herself a glass as she notices a slight movement in the darkness, a quick flash a two blue circles fell backward out of her apartment window, Out of instinct she runs to the window only to find nothing.
"What the hell is wrong with me?" taking a drink of the wine straight from the bottle she sits at the kitchen table. Drinking as she tries to figure things out, she begins to think about her mother. The last she remembers about her is when she was taken from her when she was six years old. Reaching to her neck she holds the necklace that her mother had given her before she was taken away.
As she was slowly moving her fingers over the surface of the pendant remembering her voice saying "I love you."
Raeven washed her face in the bathroom, looking into the mirror as she dried her face she noticed the necklace. She quickly ran to her room grabbing her cell phone and frantically dialing David's number, "Come on David, answer the damn phone." Three, four, five rings then the voicemail. She dialed again, no answer. She kept calling for five minutes, "Damn you David, pick up the f*cking phone!
She frantically tries to get dressed, a loud knock at her door then loud scratching. She grabs her gun and proceeds to the front door, opening the door and ready to fire. There was no one there, just a small puddle of blood. Turning back around she stands half stunned and full of fear and awe. Her door, a metal door had the same design as the tattoos carved into it. The raven sitting on top of a rose, inside a triangle layered over a diamond. Raeven takes a picture with her phone. She grabs her car keys and heads for the elevator, keeping her senses highly tuned to her surroundings.
The elevator doors opened to an empty lobby, no desk clerk, maids or nothing. She checks her gun again before stepping out, with her gun aimed ahead she slowly moved forward. Noticing a body laying in the floor in a pool of blood, Raeven moves to investigate the body. She notices two puncture wounds on the neck and shoulder, flesh ripped away from the face, the whole right jawbone exposed.. Out of the silence her phone blares, she jumps being taken by surprise.
Looking at the caller ID she quickly answers, "David, what the hell, why didn't you answer your phone?"
"Sorry Rae...uh what is so important that you are calling me at two thirty in the morning?" "You remember the tattoos from those guys in training yesterday?"
"Yeah, why Rae .Jesus you are really obsessing over this aren't you?" "Damn it David, I know where I saw it before and why it is so familiar to me. The necklace that my mom?" "Raeven? Raeven? You there, Jesus Christ Raeven don't play this game with me this early in the morning." She dropped her phone as she was thrown to the ground, looking up she saw a man standing over her. Three more joined up behind him, their eyes glowing a bright dark amber color. "Raeven, daughter of the high lord Dante Irousla, you will come with us to the House of Falling Sun." "Who the hell are you?! What do you want with me?! I have done nothing to you, I don't know who this Dante Irousla is!" "Raeven Isis, come with us. I do not wish to kill you." Raeven stood up, aimed her gun at the stranger and pulled the trigger. To her amazement he moved with surreal speed, punched her in the left jaw, moved kicked her in the back, moved again, punched her in the right ribcage.
Her head was spinning from the visceral attack, and the speed he moved with. Her fear and rage only made her want these guys dead, he lifted Raeven up with one hand by the throat. "You shouldn't have tried to shoot me" Raeven grabbed hold of the man's shoulder and scratched him, grabbed his arm and snapped his wrist. The other two restrained her, she watched as the man healed the broken wrist. From somewhere outside she heard a voice that sounded familiar, "Release her! You have stepped out of your boundaries here, weren't you thrown out of this coven and all the lands under our command?" The man turned with hate in his eyes, "Damiaen, you are still taking orders from that washed up asshole?" Damiaen stepped through the doors, "Let her go, I don?t want to have to kill my own kind?" "She means that much to you and your coven here, take her." In a split second, Damiaen ripped out the throat of one of the assailants, broke the arm of the other one and pulled the bone out and shoved it into the skull of the man holding Raeven, "Go Raeven, they will be up soon, and they will kill you."
"Damiaen, what are you, what are they! My God, what the f*ck is going on?!" "Please, Raeven settle down. Go to David, you will find the answers to your questions although they may not be what you want." Damiaen tossed her the keys to her car, she caught the keys and turned to leave but turned back around and he was gone. She started the car, radio blaring Skillet's song Monster as she raced through the streets of New York.

Chapter 3
First Clues
Raeven pounded on David's apartment door frantically, "David, open the damn door!" Upon opening the door David stared at her, noticing that she was soaked with blood. "Sh*t Raeven, what the hell happened to you?" "I was attacked, by someone or something, Hell I don't know! Then one of the soldiers, the ones we trained with, was there and he killed them. Then vanished."
"Are you hurt?" "I was punched in the face and ribs, I think I have a few broken." David went into the bathroom to get his first aid kit, "Raeven, what was they wanting? Did they give a motive for the attack?" Raeven tripping over her words and fighting tears said, "Th..th.. they want... wanted me." David gently wiped the blood away from her forehead and face, "Did you get contacts last night?" "No, why?" David just stared at her eyes, very inviting and calming. "Your eyes, they are a different color. Normally your eyes are a subtle brown, but now they look like blue gems." Raeven looked into the blank tv screen, realizing her eyes were just like Damiaen's.
"Rae, what was you trying to tell me on the phone earlier? Before you was attacked." She pulled the necklace out from under the collar of her shirt and held it up to David. "What the hell is going on here Raeven?"
"I honestly don't know, here is something else it was on my apartment door, engraved." She brought up the picture on her cell phone. "It is the exact same, detail for detail. David, You have never known me to really be scared..but..now I am scared sh*tless." David took her in his arms, "You can stay here as long as you need to, You can have the bed and I will sleep out here on the couch." He kissed her forehead and went to the closet and took out some blankets, "Get yourself some sleep and we will start researching this stuff like we planned." David got out his laptop and logged into the FBI database and pulled up Raeven's personal profile. He was highly impressed at the credentials, and mission details he found. "Damn this girl has done the work of ten men. Really strange for her age.
He knew she was very talented and determined but the medals and honors she has been awarded is out of this world. He has been partners with her for over five years now, but had never seen her personal file. David soon noticed something that concerned him, part of her file was locked and marked with something he had never seen before. PROJECT HALFBLOOD CONFIDENTIAL, "What the hell does that mean?" David quickly closed the connection and shut down the laptop upon hearing Raeven screaming. He rushed into the room to see her with her back to the wall, staring into the air. "Raeven, Raeven!" He walked over and shook her, "Raeven wake up, what in the blue hell is going on with you?" "They came for me again, the same ones." "What did they look like, tell me." Raeven seemed to ignore him, "Asian, two of them have short spiky hair. The other one has shoulder length hair, called himself Akuma." "Get dressed Rae,we are going to headquarters." "They had a marking also, but it was different than the soldiers had it wasn't like my necklace. It looked like a sun sinking into an ocean of blood." David took note that she had been able to recall such detail through a traumatic event, "Raeven, we will get to the bottom of this. I want you safe." Raeven had a higher clearance level than David due to her life working within the government and all of the missions that she has accomplished. "Raeven, have you ever seen your personal file?" "No.. I haven't, why would I need to see my own personal file?" Suddenly feeling a new found energy she took charge, got dressed and ordered David to get in her car. Speeding down the still empty streets of New York she asked him, "Why did you want to know if I have seen my personal file?" Hesitantly David replied, "I checked it when you was asleep, I must say I am very impressed even though I have seen you do half or it. You are very distinguished for you to only be nineteen"
"Jesus David, are you gonna drool over my accomplishments or you going to tell me exactly what you are getting at?" "Rae..You have a red band confidential section in your file, it is labeled PROJECT HALFBLOOD" Raeven asked, "What the hell does that mean? You think I am a spy or something, what are you saying?" "I don't know what it means, but I want us to find out together." Arriving at the FBI offices Raeven told David, "I don't want you to get hurt, this is something that obviously involves me and not you." "I have stuck with you through some tough sh*t, this is no different. You know as well as I do that something like this, these people will go after the ones you love and care about." "David, you know I have no family so that is out of the question." "You have me Rae, and it won't take long for them to figure that out. Damn it I love you Raeven." She just sat there, staring at him speechless, "David, I...can we please just stick the case and problems at hand? Please." As they walked into the building, feeling somewhat awkward now, they was met by the director of the FBI. "Sir what are you doing here?" He looked at Raeven, "I am here to help you, my name is Koren, I am one of your personal servants." "What a personal servant?" Koren handed her some papers, "This is the story they want you to believe, part of it is true some of it is not. I can lead you to the truth, help you find out who and what you really are." "Koren, how do I know that I can trust you?" He unbuttoned his shirt and exposed his right shoulder revealing the same mark as Damiaen. "You are the rightful leader of the Raven Rose coven, you are the one that is supposed to bring a balance back to our world."

Chapter 4
Just like Romeo and Juliet
Raeven and David hurried to the back offices of the FBI building, avoiding everyone that they could because they didn?t want to draw attention to themselves or engage in a conversation that could prove to be deadly for one or both of them. "Raeven..Raeven , over here."
Raeven turned to see her Co Director motioning for her and David to follow. "Soren, why the Hell are you here?" They followed Soren into a hallway, one that they had never seen before. They hurried down the hallway, which seemed to go on forever, until they came to a door with a biometric scanning pad. "Great idea Soren! What the f*ck are we supposed to do now?"
"Raeven, place your hand on the pad, you are the only one who can open it." Reluctantly she placed her hand on the pad. The door unlocked and sprung open a few seconds later. "What the hell is going on here?" David blurted out, feeling somewhat awkward and rude. "Raeven here is the last living heir to the throne of the Raven Rose coven." "Ok man, exactly what is this Raven Rose coven thing? It sounds like some kinda sugar coated devil worshiper church or something."
Soren grabbed David by the shirt and backed him to the wall, "Listen here you pathetic mortal, if you don't shut your mouth I am going to shut it permanently!" "Soren what are you doing? David is as lost as I am on what is going on, cut him some f*cking slack! JESUS CHRIST!" She looked at David, "Will you please try to not be so rude, keep your wits about you." Soren motioned for them to follow him, "Raven Rose coven was formed over 800 years ago on this soil, it originated in the area that is now Las Vegas Nevada. The European countries was becoming over populated with our kind, we first tried to settle in Asia, but those people were so superstitious with their religion they thought we were demons. They began to hunt us down during the day and dwindled our numbers,"Soren looked at Raeven, "Dante Irousla, your biological father, returned back to Europe with a few of his own warriors. He reported that they could not survive in Asia without annihilating the whole human populace. The council agreed to allow him to find a new uninhabited land for us, he journeyed to the Americas. Ignoring the council's order, he began to turn the local population of small towns and established HIS new coven, Raven Rose. He trained the ravens to carry roses out into the daylight and return them at night, Dante and his followers would trail the human scent through the air, carried by the rose, and slaughter millions over the years."
"Soren, what the f*ck does this have to do with me?" Flipping on a light switch, illuminating an underground bullet train, he looked at David and then back at Raeven, "In the 1920's Dante found himself madly in love with a woman, a forbidden love as established by the reining elders of the council. But Dante didn't give a sh*t what the council thought, he assumed that since he left and never reported back to them that he was a forgotten memory. He had two children by her, one was born in 1923 a son. He was unnamed and therefore forgotten. Like Romeo and Juliet your mother and father kept their love and relationship a secret from the strict rule of the council and the feverish blood thirsty humans and their beliefs."
Raeven rubbed her head, "So my mother was hu..man and my father was..what?" "Your father was and is a vampire. But there is more to the story, somehow word reached the council's ear that Dante was alive and well in the Americas and had taken a human bride and produced a child with her, with one more on the way. Infuriated by the news of Dante's deception they traveled to the house of Raven Rose. Dante's biological and blood father was the one to carry out the sentencing. Dante and his followers were banished from the European, and the American covens and all lands under their control. Your grandfather Sir Emilio Irousla assumed the head of the Raven Rose. The night your mother went into labor with you, a stranger that we believe to be your brother,a bloodthirsty animal just like your father attacked and bit your mother infecting and turning her. Dante received word that he had a daughter born that was a half blood, outraged he returned by the cover of night and assassinated your mother. You was then taken in by the US government, into a program that we started." David politely intruded into the conversation, "Project HALFBLOOD?" Soren agreed by nodding his head. Raeven shaking her head in disbelief asked, "So I was born in like 1941?" Soren sat, "Yes, we don't know the whereabouts of your brother or if he is even still alive. But we do know that the assassins that attacked you in the lobby of your apartment building bare the insignia of Dante's secret coven, one he kept hidden. It is called..." Raeven interrupted, "House of Falling Sun.?" "Yes Raeven, Akuma is the leader of his army and band of assassins. Something else you should know, both of you. Dante was slain 15 years ago. We think that may have been your brother, who is also your blood father." David sat beside Raeven and held her tight, looking at Soren he said, "Man this sh*t is not like Romeo and Juliet..it's more f*cked up, I mean really f*cked the hell up. Oprah and Dr. Phil combined couldn't even fix this, that is how f*cked up this is."
Soren rubbed Raeven's head, "I will be back, I have to let them know we are coming and the war has started."
"Raeven, honey we will sort all this sh*t out. I know this is a lot to take in all at once but I want you to know that I will not leave your side." Raeven looked into David's bright blue boyish eyes and smiled through her tears, "David, didn't you hear? I am a half blood, you know that means that I am a human/vampire hybrid. That explains why I love the dark so much, my speed and fighting abilities that seemed so unnatural, my special ability to heal super quick." She buried her head into David's chest and let her tears flow, "The only thing that is really blowing my mind is that you said you love me. No one has ever said anything like to me before and actually meant it. But you did and I could feel it radiating from you. My heart skipped a few beats, and I felt like I was in heaven and wanted to shout it back to you so badly."
David didn't know what to say, here was the only girl that he ever truly loved baring her soul to him, he could feel her raw emotions flowing and knew that she was speaking the truth. As a tear formed in his eye he asked her, "Why didn't you say you loved me back?" Raeven slightly turned her head so that he could hear her words, "I had this sick feeling inside, it felt like if I said anything back that you would be ripped away from me. I suddenly had this empty feeling inside, all the while feeling like I was on cloud nine." Raeven lifted her head, "You know I am like sixty-nine years old don't you?" David, now being more serious than he has ever been said, "I don't care if you was ten thousand years old, I have got to know the real you. That person deep inside, most people spend a lifetime hoping to get a glimpse of what I feel for you."
Raeven couldn't stop the words that flowed from her mouth, "I love you David."
"I love you too Raeven." They moved their lips closer, and with a single kiss they forgot everything only living in that moment. Their kiss was enough to make even Romeo and Juliet jealous.

Chapter 5
Night train to Vegas
“Raeven, please come to us. Come home, we need you. Come and take your place as the leader of your house” The screeching sound, of owls and shrieks of pain and terror filled Raeven’s mind and the smell of burning flesh and fresh blood teased her nostrils. A man walking toward her holding a sword, beautiful in its design. Silver handle with a golden inlay of a raven holding a red rose accented by the most gorgeous ruby as the eye of the raven. The blade long and slender. The man extends the handle toward her, as she starts to accept everything fades to black.
Awakening to the sound of the train humming along the sleek railing, Raeven looked around and adjusted her eyes. She went to the kitchen and made herself a cup of coffee. “That must be the human in you, that crap just disgust me.” Raeven was startled by the sudden voice and dropped the cup, Soren caught the cup before it hit the floor, “Damn calm down, don’t be so jumpy.” Raeven allowed a smile to creep onto her face, “I am sorry, I just have a lot of things on my mind…You know all this sh*t that I just now found out over the last few days” Raeven relaxed against the wall, feeling a shudder that just didn’t feel right. “I have this feeling that something isn’t right Soren, I think they are here.”
The train shook again, this time more violently. Raeven and Soren ran back to the car where they was staying. Raeven yelling the whole way, “David! David!”
“Raeven, Raeven, Raeven wake up damn it!” David shook Raeven trying to wake her. “Soren, get your ass in here now! Raeven won’t wake up!” Soren calmly and conceitedly walked into the car holding a bag of blood, he used his fingernails to cut open the bag letting the blood flow into Raeven’s mouth. She instantly opened her eyes, burning such a bright blue. She sat up, picked up the knife she had used to cut her apple earlier. She swung her hand backward toward the window as Akuma’s face appeared, hitting him in the eye.
Windows all over the train burst open as multiple assailants entered. They were dressed in tight black clothing, covering there bodies with dark purple cloaks elegantly adorned with silver symbols. Their eyes were glowing the same bright amber color as they did at her apartment. Pulling their short blades, they watched every movement. Suddenly part of the roof was ripped away, standing there looking down was Akuma. He pulled the knife from his eye, “You b*tch, you are becoming a serious thorn in my side.” Raeven never looked at him, “ What do you want with me Akuma? How can I ascend the throne if my father was killed over fifteen years ago?” “Your biological father was killed, not your blood father.” Akuma said something in an ancient language and the assassins started their attack.
Raeven grabbed the hands of the assailant in front and behind her, jumping into the air and doing a 360 degree turn ramming the assailants weapons into each other. Pulling her gun she opened fire on Akuma, making her way through the train car dispatching of the attackers one, two, and three at a time. “Raeven, Raeven……” She heard the voice calling but didn’t recognize it, she felt a sharp pain cut into her shoulder. Looking in the direction of the pain, she saw a blade sticking in her shoulder. Tracing it upward she saw Akuma, smiling gleefully as her blood poured feverishly out of her body, He grabbed her by the neck, pulling her onto the top of the speeding train. Her blood flying away in the wind, as the pain raced through her body. Akuma kicked her in the face, then in the stomach. “You think you can change what is coming but you can’t, just stop playing this ridiculous game.”
Raeven’s pain filled eyes pierced the night, her scream seemed to echo through the night that was passing by at over 150 mph. She pounced on Akuma sinking her teeth into his neck, and drank some of his blood. She felt all of his hate and fury as his memories permeated her own mind, she ripped her head away removing a chunk of flesh from his neck. He tried to strike her with his arm blade again, she blocked it with one hand and snapped the blade as if it were a toothpick. She sunk the blade into his abdomen and chest, grabbing his neck she crushed his throat and tossed him from the train.
Raeven ran back to the car where the attack began, diving in through the hole in the roof she impaled an attacker with the blade and twisted his neck off. Soren was protecting David as he shot with perfect precision, hitting every target in the head. Soren was decapitating bodies left and right, Raeven began tossing the bodies out of the windows. “David, you ok?” He looked back at her, fear controlling his gaze, “Yes, I am fine”
“Soren! How the hell did they know where we was?: Soren couldn’t give her an answer, “ I don’t know Raeven, I can’t tell you what I don’t know” Raeven marched up to Soren shoving him into the wall, “You know how to kill them? My guns don’t work, major trauma, and blood loss doesn’t seem to kill them! How the f*ck do I f*cking kill them!?” “ As you may know, sunlight will kill them. They are pure blood vampires, like me. UV rays are lethal to them, you can also decapitate them” She tossed Soren to the floor in dismay and disgust. Soren spoke, “Raeven..” “Do not speak to me.” She checked on David and took him to the next car, checked his wounds and administered first aid. “David, I am sorry about all this. If I knew what was going to happen I would have made sure you didn’t get involved” “Raeven, I told you. I wouldn’t let you do this by yourself, I love you and I will give my life to protect you. That is a promise.”
David’s touch made her anger subside almost instantly, he melted her heart and somehow reassured her that everything will be fine in the end. “David, I think we are in the middle of a war. A war over me, it is only going to get worse from here on out. If something were to happen to me I want you to just run and hide, away from it all.” before he could answer Soren walked in, “We have about twelve hours before we make it to Vegas.” “Thank you Soren, now please just give us some time, ok” Soren turned and left.

Chapter 6
Lost family and the Mansion
Raeven felt the train slow down as she drank her coffee and rummaged through the refrigerator. She heard a knock at the door, “Raeven, you in here babe?” It was David, he finally woke up and started to move around. “Hey, how did you know I would be here?” David looked at her with those eye of his, “ Rae, your always eating something. I also smelled the coffee and I know how you love coffee.” lightly laughing she poured David a cup of coffee, “It’s all we got” David took a sip and made a strange face, “It’s so….bitter.” She shook her head in agreement as he said, “ It sure as hell ain’t Starbucks.” They both laughed and rummaged through the whole kitchen. “We must be getting close, we have been steadily decreasing in speed for the last hour.” David replied, “Yeah, Soren said we was something like forty five minutes away.”
Raeven sighed, “I am going to meet my grandfather, I didn’t even think I had one.” They heard the train doors swoosh as Soren walked into the kitchen, “What are you two doing?” Raeven glared at him, “We are hungry, and this is called trying to find breakfast.” Soren looked disgusted, “Raeven you are hungry for blood not food. If you must insist there is a deep freeze full of those microwave things over there.” as he opened a small door and pulled out a small bag of blood and started mixing it with alcohol. “What are you doing?” David chirped. “I am making a bloody mary……..” then Soren walked away, “By the way we are pulling into the mansion right now.”
They looked out the windows and saw a dozen armed guards, all of them with the same blue eyes as the seals they trained with. “Raeven, looky there,” as David pointed and whispered, “the navy seals.” They felt the train slightly jerk as it finally stopped. Soren walked out of the train and embraced an older man, “Greetings My Lord, I have her. She is on the train.” The old man waved his hand and the soldiers boarded the train. “Lord Irousla, your grand daughter’s skills are far superior as to what we originally thought. She is a heartless killing machine with a conscious…..in other words she is very dangerous.” Sir Emilio agreed, “By her having a conscious she will discern what is right and what is wrong, that is what this house needs. It is taking a long time for them to bring her off the train.” “Yes, my Lord. Raeven! Come off the train!” No answer, Emilio boarded the train. “:Raeven, my dear. Please we have so much to talk about.” He felt cold steel against his throat as he saw all of his soldiers laying in a pile on the floor, “Who the f*ck are you old man?” “My name is Emilio Irousla.” Raeven gently removed the knife from his throat, “Grandfather?”
He turned to face her, he placed his hand on her cheek as a tear formed in his eye. “Raeven.” He embraced her in a hug that almost smothered her. “My child, I have awaited this day for many years.” David slowly moved from his hiding spot behind the seat, “Rae. Is everything ok?” “Who is this man Raeven?” Raeven said confusingly, “He is my partner and boyfriend” David looked completely dumbfounded when she said “boyfriend” Emilio looked David over and extended a hand to him, “Any friend of Raeven’s is welcome in this house, but I do give you this warning. Do not betray the great amount of trust that she has put in you David. Now come, we shall go eat and drink and talk.” Emilio seemed somewhat quirky and very intimidating, distinguished but very comical and carefree.
The terminal that they pulled into was very elaborately decorated, feeling very rich but with the very raw and subtleness of a warehouse. Crates stacked as high as the ceiling, which was a good twelve feet, rows of racks ran the length of the area. They had everything from shoes and clothing, to computers and weapons. Once they was on the elevator Raeven relaxed somewhat. David still felt very uncomfortable. “So Raeven, how long have you and David been partners?” “Nearly six years sir.” “Oh Raeven, do not call me sir…call me grandpa, or Emilio.”
The elevator opened up to reveal a very gothic or cathedral type of foyer, the ornate details very sharp and rugged with an aged look. The beautiful stained glass designs on the ceiling and walls shown with a very ghastly moonlight. It was creepy yet comforting. Emilio directed them toward a table, an old table made of thick rich wood. The table was decorated with an elaborate red table cloth, adorned with gorgeous gold trim. Candles was spaced at a perfect four feet from each other down the length of the table, illuminating the food so romantically. There was enough food to food a dozen troops three times over. “Please Raeven, David. Sit and eat your fill, drink your fill. I am honored to have you here at my table.”
“Emilio, Sir may I ask why you are not ready to kill me? I mean I am a human after all in the presence of hundreds of vampires.” David thought he sounded ridiculous saying he was surrounded by vampires, Emilio picked up his sense of sarcasm. “David, we have been around since the beginning of time. Do you believe in God? David?” David looked confused, “David, we were originally created by God as angels. The original vampires were cast from heaven along with Lucifer, they were some of his angels. Instead of being cast into his Hell they were forced to live among the humans and walk the earth never being satisfied, to eternally thirst, and need of affection and love. The knowledge of knowing they turned their backs on God was punishment enough, but they was also forced to never lay their eyes upon his beauty in the light of the day.” Raeven then intelligently asked, “ If that is the case how did we come to be.” “We are the blood descendants of the original vampires, but like the humans that sinned against God all of their offspring were eternally damned unless they found favor with God. Through the years we become wiser, and more conscious of what happened we began to fan out across the globe and try to learn to live among the humans, some of us couldn’t let go of the rage that fueled a hatred for God and all things he created in his image. Some of us felt that if we had been punished then his creation would be punished as well.” Raeven sat in awe of the story, the story of her ancestors. David easily intrigued, sat across the table slowly chewing his food and sipping his wine fixated on Raeven and glancing back to Emilio, “That is crazy”
“you may think it crazy David, but know that the one’s that attacked her are lead by the only surviving member of the original ones to come to this earth. He is the most dangerous of all of them, Akuma the inspiration for the greek god of war. Everywhere he goes death and destruction are sure to be close behind.” Raeven eventually started to eat as Emilio told the story, “Raeven you are different from your brother and sister, you are fourth generation. The way you come to in contact with the vampirism was strange, your mother bitten only minutes before you was born only allowed part of it to bond with your DNA.” “Wait a second Emilio, did you just say that I have a sister?” “Yes, we should retire for the day. We will talk more tonight my Dear.” Emilio got up from the table and walked down the hall and disappeared.
“David, maybe we should get some rest. I have a feeling it is going to be a long night. I just can’t believe that I have all this….” Raeven excused herself from the table and was shown to her room. David sat there in awe of Raeven’s beauty, thinking how much he wanted to be with her and make her his. David whispered, “I want to marry her”
