A poem for my baby sister
She is my baby sister
But I only see her twice a week
Her chubby face sees mine
But she still can barely speak

Her face lights up with joy
And mine does the same
I’m like her favorite toy
That is all hers to claim

Alone for a while
With her by my side
She looks up and smiles
With those large squinted eyes

I can’t help but think
As she smiling at me
That we have this strong link
That not many can see

As I smile at her beautiful face
I hold open my arms
Ready for an embrace
Then she casts her sweet charms

I hug her close and tight
Then I’m ready to let go
But she won’t give me that right
Which sets me all aglow

She keeps holding on
Hugging me until
All her fears are gone
And she’s had her sweet fill

I love this little angel
She brightens up my day
With one small act
She took my breath away
