For those that are in pain every day.
Sometimes it’s sharp,
like knives, pins or needles,
rhythmically stabbing.

Sometimes blunt,
like a bowling ball, rock or anvil,
dropped from high above.

Sometimes it throbs,
Over and over like,
The drumming of rain on a roof.

Sometimes it’s quick,
Like darts, lightening or
The pecking of sharp little beaks.

Sometimes it’s slow,
Like molasses in winter,
Invading, deep creeping,
until you can’t breath!

Sometimes it’s yes sometimes
It’s all of them at once.
Sometimes it never stops!

That’s when I wonder,
If life worth living.
