This is a poem about writer's block.
         WRITER'S BLOCK

I stare at the paper and ponder.
What will I write today?
Will I set a scene?
Will I describe a character?

What will I write today?
Will it be a novel or short story?
Will I describe a character?
What will my character say?

Will it be a novel or short story?
Will my character be male or female?
What will my character say?
What will my character do?

Will my character be male or female?
How old will my character be?
What will my character do?
It's too much to plan today?

How old will my character be?
I'm thinking a hundred thoughts.
It's too much to plan today.
I have writer's block.

I'm thinking a hundred thoughts.
I reject each one.
I have writer's block.
I'll try again tomorrow.

I think about tomorrow.
Will I set a scene?
Maybe I'll write an article.
I stare at the paper and ponder.
