Ribbit Ribbit
I don't mean to complain or fuss and rail,
But I just don't see why a frog has no tail.
Frogs are very prideful and refuse to be outdone.
We hate letting the snakes and snails have the fun.
I remember having one when I was just a tiny tad,
Paddling and playing underneath a lily pad.
It was so much fun to dive and then dart.
A wag of my tail would boost me from the start.
I recall eating algae off an old sunken log,
When some legs sprouted out and I became a polliwog
I have to say that was the best of both worlds,
Legs to hop with and a tail that whirled.
One day I was swimming through a dark muddy trough,
When a turtle swam up and bit my tail off!
I kicked my legs hard to flee from the strife,
And luckily was able to escape with my life.
I waited and waited but sadly to no avail,
My hind-parts just would not grow a new tail.
Now I'm forced to live in a lifelong rut.
Instead of a beautiful tail, I'm stuck with a butt.
