Make friends, and more importantly, learn to keep them.
Down the road, by the brook,
There was a tree, there was a nook,
The tree was oak, with a heart of gold,
It gave me love, it soothed my soul.

When I was beat, when I was down,
It gave me strength to carry on,
It let me hug, it let me cry,
It heard my pain, and healed it dry.

And I grew young, I grew strong,
I ran with the world, I flew like a song
I ran like mad, with hunger and furor,
I ran to get ahead, and be a conqueror.

Years passed by, and one day I stopped,
I wanted to rejoice, and delay my hop,
I turned around, to embrace my regards,
The silence was deafning, I saw graveyard.

And then it dawned, I had come too far,
The faster I ran, the lonelier I got,
I saw no one, to hug away the pain
All my vanities looked like vain.

I cried like a baby, I cried all night,
I wanted that hug, to feel alive,
And while I ran back, with heart full of grief,
I made million promises, I vowed to keep,

I ran down the road, by the brook,
I stared at the ravages, my soul shook,
I saw the emptiness, where my friend once stood,
There was no tree, there was no nook.
