A man prays for an end to his wife's misery.

Gnawing my nails, I stared helplessly at the closed door. My wife’s bone chilling screams pierced through the door, causing me deep anguish. Tearfully, I prayed to God for her deliverance.

The door opened. A man wearing surgical scrubs emerged and walked up to me. I tensed.

He beamed at me. “Congratulations! It’s a girl.”
