My deep desire to recapitulate the love i once knew.
I wonder what made us feel,
The way we ever felt.
It is a wound which never heals,
No matter how it's dealt.

My love for you was a joy to me,
Pristine and so clear.
But i found no truth in thee,
For you never held me dear.

Part we must,and never meet.
On seperate paths alight.
But i'd keep those memories sweet,
Of stolen moonlit nights.

Alas! can we not seize,
This love which was so fair?
The breath of gentle breeze,
When we felt like a dove-pair?

I'd give up what it costs,
To see those tender days again.
For i need this love which is lost,
Though from it i have only pain.
