Act 2 of a proposal for Season 19 of Power Rangers. Adapted from Tensou Sentai Goseiger.
INT. THE WATCHTOWER. - NIGHT

Rebecca is standing my her computer, eager to hear the something from someone, anyone in the Ranger Alliance. Checking it one final time, she gives up. She picks up a water bottle sitting on the desk, and turns around in her chair. When she does, she notices the TV in the corner. It's in the middle of a news broadcast, and she sees the words "MYSTERIOUS CRASH DOWNTOWN" crawling along the bottom of the screen. She turns it up to listen.

REPORTER
... There seems to be no evidence to indicate what caused the mysterious crash reported earlier tonight. Similar accounts of multicolored lights in the night sky have been unconfirmed. We'll bring you more information as we get it. Until then, I'm Jackson Andrews, Channel 7 News.

REBECCA
It can't be.

Rebecca looks on, completely shocked. She sets the bottle back down, grabs her coat, and runs out the door.

EXT. CONSTRUCTION SITE - LATER

Rebecca arrives at the construction site, looking frantic. She's holding a small scanner, which she proceeds to scan over the area.

REBECCA
OK, they won't search too hard until morning, now where is it?

She continues to look over the area, until the scanner begins to beep. She heads in that direction, and eventually finds the spheres. She looks in them, and finds something that the five teens missed, small cards, each with the picture of a ranger on them. These are the keys that make the morphers work. She looks relieved. At least whoever has them is unable to use them. She keeps looking around the scene trying to figure out WHO found the Star Squadron Morphers. Eventually, she pushes over a piece of rock and sees a purse, Brie's purse. She opens it, sees Brie's ID in the wallet, and realizes what happened. She takes the purse, and leaves.

INT. THE UNDERGROUND - AFTERNOON

The next day, the teens are sitting in the Underground, talking about what happened the night before. Logan walks by, and brings them sodas. Emily stops him.

EMILY
Has anyone been saying anything about last night?

Logan sits down and starts to talk with them.

LOGAN
You kidding? It's all anyone is talking about. I've heard everything from a high school prank to an alien invasion.

MATTHEW
Who knew that THAT would be pretty close?

INT. THE WARSTAR LAIR - MOMENTS LATER

Mantix is standing before Lepiderra and Nicomina.

MANTIX
My Lord, I attempted to make the interception, but I arrived at the sight of the landing

LEPIDERRA
What happened to the transport pods, Mantix?

MANTIX
I stopped them from reaching their destination, sir. But five earth teenagers found them before I could collect.

LEPIDERRA
You have failed me, Mantix.

MANTIX
I apologize, sir. A squad of Drones and I searched the area afterwards, and we're sending another group to search now.

LEPIDERRA
Don't bother with the search. Send the Drones, but send them with the Rock Beetle to attack the city. That'll lure those children out of hiding. Your proper punishment will have to be dealt with later.

INT. THE UNDERGROUND - MOMENTS LATER

At this point we see Rebecca walk in. We see her only from behind, but it's obvious it's her. She walks directly over to the table that the five of them are sitting at. She stops directly in front of Brie.

REBECCA
Excuse me, are you Brianna Clark?

BRIE
Yeah, why do you ask?

REBECCA
Sorry, my name is Rebecca. I was out last night and found this.

She pulls out Brianna's purse.

REBECCA
I though I recognized your picture on your ID.

BRIE
Oh, thank you! Please sit down.

Brie picks up the purse and starts going through it making sure everything is still in place. Rebecca sits directly in front of her.

REBECCA
I have something I need to ask you. I found your purse at the construction site last night after the crash. Did you find anything while you were there?

The five teens look at each other, wondering if they should share with this woman who is a total stranger.

EVAN
Well--

They never get the chance however, because there's a huge crashing sound from outside.

The look out the glass doors of the Underground, and see dozens of Drones attacking anything outside they can find.

Rebecca jumps up.

REBECCA
I've got to get you guys out of here. Is there a back way out?

LOGAN
Yeah, follow me.

EXT. OUTSIDE THE UNDERGROUND - CONTINUOUS

They run through the kitchen to a back entrance. They spill out into an alley. They head for the street in the opposite direction of the majority of the Drone attack. They reach the end of the alley, where a Drone jumps out and attacks them.

Rebecca immediately springs into action. She grabs the Drone, slams it into the wall, and destroys it in no time flat.

MATTHEW
How'd you...?

REBECCA
I'll explain once we're someplace safe.

EXT. DOWNTOWN RIVERVILLE - CONTINUOUS

We see the Rock Beetle walk toward a large skyscraper.

ROCK BEETLE
This looks like a good place to start.

He throws a strong punch against the side of the building, sending cracks all the way up the building, which then shatters into pieces. The shrapnel lands, forming a large pile of rubble. The Rock Beetle stands on top of the pile, laughing.

ROCK BEETLE
This is going to be fun!!

He laughs, sending lasers out of his eyes, shattering two more buildings into gravel.

INT. THE WATCHTOWER - MOMENTS LATER

Soon after, the six of them arrive at the Watchtower, and it's clear that it wasn't easy getting there. All five of the teens collapse on any stable piece of furniture they can find, Rebecca strides over to her desk and sits down, pulling the Key Cards to the Star Squadron Morphers out of a desk drawer.

EVAN
What were those things, and how were you able to drop them so easy?

REBECCA
They're called Drones, and they're fairly weak, their only real strength is just how many of them there are. They're not nearly as powerful some of the others. Did you guys take anything from the construction site last night?

EMILY
The Others???

As she says this, she absentmindedly pulls her Star Squadron Morpher out of her pocket and shows it to Rebecca.

Rebecca grabs a scanner off of the table, and scans Emily's morpher with it. She then takes the scanner, plugs it into her computer, and a stream of technobabble runs across the screen.

REBECCA
They're part of a group called the Warstar Tribe. They're an alien race that's been trying to take over the Earth for a few months now.

MATTHEW
What do they want with Earth?

REBECCA
I don't know, Earth has been attacked so many times before, it might just be bragging rights at this point.

LOGAN
Earth has been attacked before?

Rebecca sighs, she realizes she needs to start at the beginning. She turns around in her chair.

REBECCA
Yeah, quite a few times, actually. There have been attacks on various parts of the Earth in the past few years. Usually there's a team from the Ranger Alliance that's able to stop them, but there hasn't been a chance to assemble one yet. I've been holding them off on my own for the past few months, but I can't anymore.

BRIE
Why?

REBECCA
They're an adaptive species. They can adapt to any environment and atmosphere in the known galaxy, but it takes time. When they first arrived, they were fairly weak. I was able to hold them off, but after a battle a few nights ago, I realized I needed help. I sent out a transmission to the other planets in the Ranger Alliance: Triforia, Eltar, Mirinoi. Those devices came from the planet Aquitar. They've helped to fight on Earth in the past, so they understand the terrain and atmosphere of Earth.

EVAN
How do you know all of this?

Rebecca hesitates for a beat. She picks up his morpher and starts to tinker with it, talking to it rather than making eye contact with anybody.

REBECCA
My sister fought in the Ranger Alliance for several years. She taught me everything I know about it. When I saw the Warstar trying to conquer Earth, I started to try to fend them off.

She's trying to open Evan's morpher but it's not working.

REBECCA
These are called morphers.
(She holds up the five key cards.)
They operate by using these key cards to activate them. Somehow you missed them at the construction site. They give whoever operates them enough power to become Rangers.
(She sets the key cards down on the table and keeps trying to open the morpher.)
They must have gotten damaged when they crashed. It won't open.

EVAN
No they didn't, look.

He opens with morpher with ease, which makes Rebecca look sick.

REBECCA
Oh, no. They've bonded to you.

MATTHEW
Bonded to us?

REBECCA
Technology from the Ranger Alliance is designed to bond to the first person who touches it. It's a failsafe to try and make sure that the power in them doesn't fall into the wrong hands. I can deprogram it, but it takes time.

Just then a large crash is heard outside. The Warstar Tribe is getting closer.

REBECCA
And time is the one thing I don't have.
