A short tale of falling in love when you least expect it.
                                                                        Accidentally In Love

If I had known I was going to fall in love then I probably would have avoided the situation altogether. I didn’t know I was going to fall in love with the short stocky ginger kid wearing the baggy pants and black sweatshirt. I was looking for quite the opposite actually. I wanted a tall, lean, strong sophisticated man that would be able to provide for me, and who really understood what I needed and wanted. I only got one of those qualities: the important one.
It was a normal day. I was in the library with my friends laughing and joking around. Then in runs this one boy I was not particularly fond of. He was being chased by a short, stock, ginger boy in lose baggy jeans and a black sweatshirt. He was ugly.
This boy was outgoing, immature, and a jerk; which makes him funny. Like typical teenagers we exchanged phone numbers and later that day he sent me a text message while I was in my physics class. His spelling was horrific. I was heavily into writing back then, so someone who typed so lazy was really in my bad books. As we continued talking we realized we had things in common. I don’t remember what they were anymore. The important thing he did was make me laugh no matter how bad a mood I was in. He could always crack a good joke or say just the right thing to give me a smile.
We hung around as friends for a while, doing normal friend things. Then my current boyfriend dumped me. I was devastated. I broke down in the middle of the hall crying. I sat on the floor and he stood beside me trying, as usual, to make me smile. It wasn’t going to work this time. I ran outside, my locked still open, and sat in a snow bank behind a fence where no one could see me. I cried and cried and cried. Within a few minutes he came out and found me there. I called my mom, and she drove us to his house.
That night he was bringing me to his youth group. We hid in one of the back rooms, because I still couldn’t stop crying, and he sat there and gave me a hug. When people came looking for us we hid and stayed quiet. When they left I stood up and tripped. I landed on top of him. For just a second, I let him look into my bloodshot eyes, and that’s when I kissed him.
It was beautiful. That’s when I realized that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I wasn’t expecting a sweet, devoted, romantic man when I met him, but now I have the perfect man. I tripped into love, and I wouldn’t get back up for anything in the world.
