Nobody Notices the Moon

Nobody notices the moon.
Sadly she stares at the earth, longingly,
Watching her child, a mother to her son,
And the creations that lie upon it.

It is the apple of her eye,
And she waits, pearly and white,
Watching, watching, always calm and watching,
And always so desperately lonely.
