I attempt to explain a child's obsession with noise.
I listened to mother's

great pile of dishes;

water slurping,

plates sinking then smashing,

forks and knives,

clinging, clanging then clashing.

Mother bought a Machine.

She says It makes washing easier,

but,

It doesn't make those sounds.

So I make those sounds for

the Machine.
