Poetry-Goodbye
I can barely remember what it was like
when you loved me
when you smiled when I walked in the door
when you were glad
when I hugged you tightly

I can barely remember
when you wanted to be together
like lovers are
or sit closely to watch a movie or two
but those were the days
I lived for, I longed for....alone I guess
after a long day at work
just to come home
to be with you meant so much
to sit with you and feel
your warm wonderful touch
now we're two strangers
that pass in the hall
I think of you throughout my day
and sometimes still want to call
because I miss you...

your pain is so much different than mine
you carefully and cleverly
cut me from your heart
so you would not hurt on the inside
I wish I could have done that
I can mask the pain I'm feeling
until someone mentions your name
or until they ask me how I'm doing
then its over for me
I usually can't control it after that
I wish I didn't love you still
I wish I didn't feel the need
to take care of you still
I wish that you loved me...still
