Based on the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, 1943
Brave we met as he came,

Seeing us from afar.

Lies licked across his pale lips,

Inciting a world against us.

And, still,

Brave we met as we came.

They marched upon the gates,

Their guns pounding on our walls.

The children huddled in fear,

Their mothers struggling to be brave.

The ethics swayed in the balance

Sanity a forgotten pleasure,

Men fought,

Some for freedom, others driven by fear.

And still, lies came from his pale lips.

And still, brave we met as he came.
