Poem about reflection.
Necktie

It is 5:00 am
I am in bed caught between drowsy and dreaming
Through my haze I see my husband dressing for work.
I smile, once again he is putting on his too well-worn
khaki's, I told him should go to Goodwill.
Putting on his necktie, the one with cats scattered about,
I know he is in a reflective mood.
Remembering Bob-cat and the way he would gingerly
pick up each paw as he attempted to go out into
the icy cold snow, or the way he licked a Frosty or
pushed pen, clippers and wallet off the dresser
  just to see them fall.
My husband unconsciously strokes his tie,
  walks to the back yard,
stops at the 2nd pine tree on the left
to pay homage to an old friend.
