A story about a girl who want's nothing other than to be free.
I was walking home from the beach one evening when I was stopped in my tracks by the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. He was tall, muscular, he had wavy brown chin length hair that was tied at the nape of his neck with a leather thong, and he had a killer tan.

I saw him standing outside the pub, leaning against a red convertible smoking a cigarette. I walked towards him. Complete confidence in my stride, even though inside I was screaming that this was madness.

Good girls don't go walking up to strangers at night, even one's as gorgeous as this one. Good girls do what they are told. In the end Good girls pay for their mistakes. I know that now I didn't then, so I kept walking toward him. I intended to walk past him, I just wanted to get close enough to breath in what I am sure would be an intoxicating scent. A scent that now fills me with longing. I was so close to him now, that I could smell his cigarette.

I looked at him as I passed, breathing him in, I knew that I would hold his image in my mind forever. I was level with him now only a hand full of meters between us. He looked up at me and instantly I was lost in the icy blue of his eyes. His gaze locked with mine, I couldn't look away. He strode toward me closing the meters between us until there were only a few inches remaining.

He clasped my hand, "Jeremy" he said with a smile.

"Lillie" I replied as I shook his hand and smiled at him.

"Beautiful" he said. This only made my blush.

I released his hand.

"What is a good girl like you doing out alone at time like this?" he asked

"It’s not late" I said

He smiled

"And how do you know I’m good?" I said with a flip of my hair, purely flirtatious " oh and I’m not alone,
I’m with you"

"Yes" he said as he reached out and held my hand, “yes you are”
I wasn't sure what he was agreeing too but it was heading in a direction I liked so I didn't question it.

"Would you like to have a drink with me?" he indicated the pub

"I Can’t" I replied regret in my voice

"Can’t?" he asked confused

"Underage" I said as I looked at the ground

"Pity" he said as he looked me up and down.

A few moments of silence followed. He looked as if he was deciding on something. The silence stretched, until he broke it.

"Come on" he said tugging on my hand; he was heading toward the car he was leaning against earlier.

"Where are we going?" I asked, anticipation now building in me.

"My place” he said “so we can have a drink, somewhere you won’t be underage"

“What else are we going to do?” I asked, flirting with him.

He smirked at me “whatever you want”

I smiled and followed him to the car; he held the door open for me, then went and got in the driver’s side.
I had never done this before, go home with a complete stranger. But it filled me with excitement.

He lived about 10minutes from the pub; His home was huge, not unlike a castle in old times. Or at least what I would imagine one to be.

He led the way up the stone steps, I followed closely behind. We entered the house and went to the dining area. He poured two glasses of thick red wine. He then handed me one while he kept the other.

He raised it in a toast, I raised my glass too, “To new beginnings" he said

"To new beginnings" I repeated as we both took a sip of wine.

I had never tasted anything quite like it before, it was sweet and sour at the same time, warm but not too warm and thick but not creamy, it was pure carnal sin in a glass. I drank the entire glass.

"Would you like some more?" he asked reaching for the bottle.

"Yes, please" I said eagerly as he filled the glass again.

I drank another two or three glasses after that, I lost count

"So tell me Lil, what do you want more than anything in the world?" Jeremy asked.

"Freedom" I stated "to be free"

I stayed with Jeremy for hours, it seemed right. We talked about everything that came to mind, all the places he'd been. All the places I wanted to go anything and everything that we could think of. I had never been so open with anyone in my life. We ended up in his bedroom, we were both too intoxicated to be able to drive anywhere tonight, and it seemed silly to stay apart. I lay on his bed; it was big and oh so comfortable. We talked a while longer.

"You really are a good girl, aren't you" he stated

"Not always" I said as I leaned in and kissed him.

The kiss was explosive I never knew it could be like that. It quickly escalated into something more and before long, he was on top of me, and inside me he was everywhere. I was floating in a mind numbing abyss; I was in a dream land, riding a high that I prayed would never end. I fell asleep in his arms, with his steady breath like a lullaby.

I woke the next morning, alone. There was a note on his pillow. It was from Jeremy, 'Had to leave early for work, you looked like an angel sleeping, I couldn't bear to wake you. Stay here. I will be home just after sunset' It was signed Jeremy. I held the note to my heart, He cared I thought to myself. I fell back into a restless sleep, for the rest of the day.

I was awoken by Jeremy when he returned home from work. He brought more wine. We drank as we did the night before, and then fell into bed together again. The next day and night was the same as the last two.

When I woke the third morning, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Jeremy was beside me. I snuggled into his chest I wanted to fall asleep to the sound of his heart beating. Only it wasn't. I screamed and ear piercing scream, and shook him "Jer?" To my shock he woke.

"Lil, stop screaming" he said as he grasped my wrists.

"I...I...thought" I stammered then grabbed him and kissed him. He kissed me back. I placed my hands on his chest to feel his heart, to make the nightmare go away. His heart didn't beat. I pulled away from him.

"Lil? What’s wrong?" he asked concerned

"Your heart...it's not..." I stammered unable to get it out

"Beating" he finished. I nodded

"I know" he said. I looked at him in shock "neither is yours"

"What?" I said confusing clouding my mind "I don't understand"

"Lil, don't freak out on me" he said with calming gestures

"If you hadn't noticed Jer, I kind of already am" I said

"I know, just hear me out okay?" he asked

"Of cause I’ll hear you out" I said. His face filled with relief.

"Okay, well, you know that wine we've been drinking?" he asked I nodded "it's not wine, it-"
I cut him off saying “is it drugs? Have you been drugging me?" I asked anger flaring within me.

“no and yes" he said

"Well which is it?" I said

"It's not drugs. Well not the kind your thinking" he said

"You know what I’m thinking now do you?" I said

"Yeah I do actually" he replied, I gaped at him utterly shocked.

"If it's not drugs than what is it?" I asked

"It's my blood." he stated

"WHAT" I said erupting in fury “what kind of insane person are you?" I practically screamed at him

"I didn't want to lose you" he yelled back at me

"Oh and feeding me your blood is going to make me stay!" I yelled

"It can't make you stay, but it will make you like Me." he said

"Do you have like some sort of disease you want me to have or something like that so I won't leave you?"

"Yes" he said, just one word no explanation

"What?" I asked

“When I was a kid I always knew I was different-”

I cut in saying "I don't want a life story, just one word. What do you have?"

“I am a Vampire" he stated

I laughed

He stared at me

"I was being serious" I said

"So was I" he replied no hint of deception in his voice.

He stared at me; I stared back holding his gaze.

"You’re serious aren't you?" I said

"Yes I am" he replied

I thought I would be scared, but I wasn't, this revelation didn't scare me, it just made me realize that I loved him, all of him.

"Show me" I said

He looked at me for a second longer, and then closed his eyes. I could see the pain on his face. He opened his mouth and two fangs descended. My breath caught. He closed his mouth instantly then turned from me to stare out the window.

"You don't have to stay." he said pain lacing his voice "I understand that you hate me, but before you leave you need to know that I never wanted to hurt you. I only wanted to protect you, forever."

I stayed silent, there was an internal battle going on inside me, I was scared, angry, but most of all I knew that I loved him and that made my final decision easy.

"Jer" I said softly knowing he'd hear me "turn around and look at me"

"If you don't mind I’d rather not watch you walk out of my life" he said standing still

"Damn it Jeremy, Look at me" I said frustrated

He turned and looked at me. I put all the love I had for him into my eyes.

"I will not ever leave you" I said calmly

"You don't have to stay, I made you a vampire, and you do not have any obligation to stay with me"

"Yes I do" I said

"As your maker I release you" he said formally, I felt our bond snap.

“Don’t you want me?" I asked tears beginning to well up in my eyes.

"I’ve always wanted you" he answered

I moved towards him then, closing the space between us. I pressed my lips to his lightly. He hugged me to his chest. "I love you" I said to his chest

His face was in my hair, I felt him breath in my ear "I’ve always loved you" he whispered to me

I laughed, softly. "What is it?" Jeremy asked

“You gave me the one thing I wanted" I stated

"What’s that?" he asked leaning back to look into my eyes

"Freedom" I said as I kissed him, he kissed me back, and my world was perfect.

I thought to myself good girls get to live forever.
