Passing of a Loved One
I’m really not sure if I’m doing this correctly but all I know is that I have things in my head that are begging to get out so please excuse me if my method is wrong though my intentions are good.

Purple Roses

The day after Christmas
Most people would say
Is a time for relaxing
So children can play

But fate was in motion
That day would bring death
As my wife’s oldest sister
Would take her last breath

She battled the drink
Though we tried our best
To give her our help
And let God do the rest

She died by herself
In he midst of her sleep
She left this world quietly
Not so much as a peep

We had her funeral
On a cold snowy day
Purple roses on her coffin
Tears were all we could say
