CLOWNING AROUND

So very much alike we are to the lively clown,
wearing a painted smile turned upside down.
and a tiny turquoise tear drips from the eye,
just a little reminder of love long gone awry

Faded love of yesterdays and hereafter,
mix with fast music and too loud laughter.
Never let the other people see you frown,
keep on dancing, and clowning around.

Fickle is the fate that tends to lead us on,
the clowns of life will face a lonely dawn.
Ours is a world that spins out of control,
a quest for vengeance takes a terrible toll.

The mask of a clown hides the true emotion,
spiraling downward to depths of an ocean.
There is, in reality, but one true saving grace,
just remove the facade and wash your face.

Lift up your voices and let it be clear to all,
that you alone can survive the coming fall.
There will be someone whose eyes can really see,
we are not clowns at all, it's only you and me.
