A tribute to our brave ANZACS (Australia and New Zealand)
What thoughts run through your mind,
When the minute silence plays?
Do you stand in front of your chair, face blank,
And in a thoughtless daze?

Do you sit fully erect and not say a word,
Yet nearly fall asleep?
Or hang your hair around your face,
So you can freely but privately weep?

Do you draw up a schedule for the weekend?
Or do you push current events aside?
And when you think of our brave men and women,
Does your heart fill up with pride?

Do you shed tears for those who never came home,
Or rejoice for those who made it back here?
Do you make plans to visit some lonely war veterans?
Do you have to fight to hold your tears?

Do you feel grateful for the freedom they gave their lives for,
Do you think about when push came to shove,
Or do you hold hands with the person next to you,
And thank our soldiers that you’ve still got people left to love?
