Children who grow up in a household of fighting never forget.
Screams echo
As tears fall,
Dampening the blanket
The fighting never ends
Merely quites
For a moment,
A day,
But never longer
It is a monster
Built accidentally,
Then given control
The young child cries
For even as it grows older
The yelling haunts
The thoughts,
The emotions,
The dreams, everything.
It begins before birth
But follows 'til death
A childhood of shouting
Never leaves,
Simply waits
For peaceful moments,
For quiet and darkness
Before reappearing
Torturing.
