A song I wrote to my best friend.
No Matter What

When you think you want to cry
When you fear you might just die
If ever you begin to lose your mind
Feel free to borrow mine
It really should work fine
It’s just a little strange…and hard to find.

But for all the jokes and laughs we share
Of course, you know, I really care
About you and the woman you’re becoming.
But don’t try to rush it, squirt.
I don’t want you getting hurt.
But even if you fall, never stop trying.

I just want you to know
If you’re not sure where to go
And you’ve got too many lemons in your life
Just call me up and say
You’ve had an awful day.
We’ll make lemonade and laugh away the strife.

No matter what, never forget
That of all the dorks I’ve met,
You’re the friend that’s really fit me like a glove.
And though we’ve had our thin and thick,
Together we still stick
Because the thickest thing of all is stubborn love.

So the corny poem’s almost done,
And let me tell you, I had fun
Who doesn’t love a rhyming birthday kiss?
I’ve just one more thing to say
Before I go on my way:
I love you, and you’ll always be my sis
