Requiem for sleep.
"Run!"
It was a thought from somewhere deep inside and could not be disobeyed. His life depended upon his obedience to that instinct which swept him into action. His legs worked in tandem to propel him from his unseen threat. There seemed to be no escape. His heart beat faster. His breathing became desperate. The concept of where was lost in the moment. It was lost to 'away.' It was lost to 'now' and 'go.'

This isn't a fight he can win no matter how much he fights. He can't win no matter how strong he or anyone thinks he is. He's trapped inside his mind. How did he get there? He wonders between other racing thoughts and feelings. Run. Left. Right. Now. Jump. No. Wrong way. This way. Go. Go. Go. Gripping his bed makes him aware. The vision begins to dislodge itself, but lingers with violent flashes with every fearful blink. It threatens to take him back.

Sitting up, he recognizes his surroundings. He doesn't want to go back - ever.
