A poem encouraging the dismissal of materialism. Profundities not commodities.
Become

So you’re ‘cultured’ you might agree?
A clean cut mouth of twisted words,
Little fingers sew your identity,
Drink the grape, don’t tend the vineyards
.
Run with lust and harlot peers;
Distance yourself from nature’s scripture.
Scamp; abscond from your petty fears,
Soon you shall lay beneath the baobab in rapture.

Open your hateful, painted eyes,
Burn your skin until only flesh remains,
Your fortitude shall hush any cries,
Break and sever  from material that enchains.

You are now but an innocent child,
A liberated spirit from which you once fled,
Your mind is no longer corrupt, defiled.
Your selfish skin flakes, now shed.
