This short piece is about abuse.
The sudden shock of the punch forces me down suddenly. I feel the corner of the ceramic pot piercing my cheekbone and I instantly feel a bruise appearing. I crawl away, begging him to stop. He tells me that it is my fault, that I am a selfish girl.



I am a selfish, prejudiced girl, unable to control my hunger or my weight. I’m sorry, daddy.
