Whispers from my muse.
Tomorrow's Child

In life she finds but shadows
Beneath the bowered path.
Dark indeed she bears the seed
And flees a certain wrath.

The light of hope she carries,
which eyes of darkness see
and hanging in the balance
A living legacy.

Tomorrow's child slumbers,
to what the future brings.
Good or ill, bear or kill,
The fateful question rings?

Will nurture trump expedience?
Will mercy face the dawn?
Will fallen grace resume its place
and rescue right from wrong?

Will darkness flee the forest?
Will sun beams find the floor?
Will love open windows wide,
Where spite would close the door?
