I wrote this poem for my sisters wedding - she loved it because it was so personal.
Today I am your blushing bride,
My place is ever at your side,
But you’re in for a bumpy ride,
I have some things to tell you.

There will be days when you’ll forget,
The butterflies when we first met,
When words are said that I regret,
But always know I love you.

Some days I won’t have time for you,
I’ll have a million things to do,
And I’ll become a crabby moo,
But still you’ll know I need you.

You’ll test my patience to extremes,
Quite often just for fun it seems,
But I am always on your team,
I never will desert you.

Our fiery tempers may ignite,
When we both think that we are right,
But always try to keep in sight,
That I’m the right girl for you.

Perhaps one day with joyful glee,
I’ll tell you there is going to be,
Another in our family,
A helpless child who needs you.

And having learned that we are blessed,
I may become moody and stressed,
And you will miss my soft caress,
When I’m in bed without you.

There may be troubles that befall,
Financial, Health, Material,
And you will face them strong and tall,
For I’m here to support you.

Our love is sure in heart and mind,
With questing roots to seek and find,
The foundations that hold and bind,
And make me stronger for you.

To love, to give, to have, to hold,
The years before us shall unfold,
Our love stays young as we grow old,
And I will stand beside you.
