A scene of heartbreak in poetry.
She tells him that she loves him
He whispers that he knows
She tells him that she’s sorry
He begs her ‘please don’t go’

She kisses his mouth softly
He kisses hers back hard
She slowly pulls away then
He feels she’s moved so far

Now she’s walking backwards
A smile on her lips
The tears are pouring freely
He feels them as she slips

Away into her own life
Life without this love
He is left so far down
As she moves above

She tells him it’s not over
One day she’ll be back
He cries out just stay with me
His face begins to crack

Wait for me she answers
Then she walks away
He is all alone now
Until that far off day

When she does return to him
Ready to embrace
All that she’d forgotten
With a smile on her face
