A personal reflection on decisions friends can make, I wonder if you guys agree with me?
The Problem with Decisions

I see you. Yes, I can see you sitting over there, all alone. Divided from the world by the choices you have made and waiting, ever waiting for the right person, maybe even people who will come over and pull you out of this prison of yours.

I can see that desperate longing to belong again, the need to walk amongst familiar faces, but who will be familiar any more? When I approach, try to bridge this gap that separates us, all I receive in return is animosity! What has happened to you, to your soul to make you like this? It makes no sense and gives me only an inclination to walk away. Turn my back on a situation that could potentially end up with me joining you, separated by the same doubts that isolate You from Me.

So what can I do? Talk to you? Keep you company? Ask questions and wait for an answer that will never come? No. There must be a way to help you, but you need to help me in return – Tell me the reasons behind your decisions, the emotions that drove them and the final choice as to why you carried them through. Only then will we get anywhere.

You do have friends, you know. The ones who would have, and still will stand by you in any situation. They’re looking for You, you know. Searching in all the wrong places though – past identities you hid behind, promises you had falsely made and even the dark recesses of the conscience that mankind manages to inhabit at times.

But I know better.

I know you regretted your actions. However much pleasure they may have brought you, you knew the falseness of them. So where better a place to look than here, where all go to in remorse? That hidden cove of the mind that all have, but rarely use. The place in which to reflect on your actions and decide on the future. The problem is, once there only you can bring yourself out. We may be able to help, but only in the sense of friendship and the advice that comes along with it.

So please, let me reach out, find you in that dark place and gently lift you back into the world. Re-connect you to those friendly faces and the life that comes along with them.

Let me show you that you are not alone.
